Stories Matter: They Entertain Us.

If you don’t have a phone or you don’t have WiFi, then stories will keep you from getting bored. And let’s say you’re lost on an island all by yourself and you’ve got nothing but a few books, then the books will keep you from getting bored and keep you interested instead of getting bored to death.

My topic is about how reading books can keep you from getting bored. And I chose this as my topic because I’ve been through an experience that all I could do for 1-2 months was either read books or workout. I chose reading books because I don’t want to get tired. And I could only do these 2 things because there was a typhoon and its name was typhoon YUTU. It was like the biggest typhoon Saipan had been affected by, and there was power lost for 1 and a half months because CUC fixed the north side first and then the south. So I didn’t have anything to do and all I had was books from the school and some other books I borrowed from the library.

So that whole month and a half I only read books, slept and ate. It was boring at first but then later on I got used to it. If I didn’t have books during that time, then I don’t know what I would have been doing because there was nothing to do. Everything outside was broken. The streets were flooded and there was no power inside the house.

So stories are important because they can keep you away from boredom when you have no power or when there is another typhoon that hits Saipan.

Because for stories you don’t need WiFi to read them because they aren’t digital. They are right in front of you and you can read them anytime. So you should start reading books because one day when you’ve got no WiFi or you’re going through a natural disaster, you can read stories to keep you away from boredom.
