Submission Guidelines

Marianas Writers Movement does not pay for content.

Any submissions are an acceptance of terms that Marianas Writers Movement would have e-publication rights for the submitted material. This means that, by submitting, you are confirming that you own the rights to e-publish and can authorize and are authorizing Marianas Writers Movement to publish the material on their website.

If your material is accepted for publication, Marianas Writers Movement’s rights only extend to the publication or re-publication on its website. Marianas Writers Movement is not taking any print publication rights; Marianas Writers Movement does not prevent or prohibit author/artist/photographer from submitting material for subsequent publication anyplace else.

Marianas Writers Movement may decline any submission without reasons given.

We accept submissions in the following categories:

Author Showcase—any poem, short story, or excerpt from a Work-In-Progress by an author living in the CNMI.

Book Reviews—any book review by an independent reader of a published work, with a preference for books of poetry and fiction.

On Writing—articles and essays about writing, including inspiration, motivation, and how-to articles. Our sub-categories or tags include:

            The writing journey

            Before you write

            While you write

            After your first draft

            Publishing and Marketing

Events—write-up of up-coming events in the region of interest to Marianas Writers

Fun Stuff—this could be anything fun, from cartoons to media kits; from coloring pages to bingo cards; from NaNoWriMo wordcounters to quotations, etc.

Photographs—preferably of Marianas Writers Movement activities; or scenic and people photographs taken in the CNMI; or photographs or art that illustrate your concurrently submitted writing.
