On June 7, we celebrate the birthday of poet, publisher, and children’s author Nikki Giovanni. Celebrating black American life, she inspired others with her writing and teaching at Queen’s College, Rutgers, Ohio State and Virginia Tech. Her personal support and publishing venture promoted other Black American writers.
