Stories Matter: They are a Culture by Endymion San Nicolas.

Without stories, we wouldn’t be able to learn about our ancestors and the origin of our land. We would lose our language, great warriors, influential people, and the territory of our people. A story represents the origin of the culture it is telling us about. A story about a culture is as important as the culture itself, without a story there is no culture. They can show how different our lifestyle is from our ancestors’. When you think about it, a story can help save a dying culture, it can show the modern people of the culture what made their culture a culture. A story can define a culture. Each story about a culture is unique, if there were no stories about cultures then we wouldn’t know about the culture, if it existed or not, how they lived if they had traditions during their events. Stories give knowledge about a culture, people learn from them, learn about the cultures’ past. The living people of culture might not know anything about their cultures’ past if stories about it didn’t exist. That’s why we must preserve the stories of our ancestors and their culture because if we don’t we could lose it and over time new generations of that culture would possibly forget about their cultures’ past. I said it before and I’ll say it again, a culture without the stories about its past will die out slowly, and for the people of that culture that can hurt them. A culture is a group of people’s lives, it is something that they live with and if that were to die out who would they be knowing that their culture has died out, some people might call them crazy because of a story about that persons’ culture doesn’t exist anymore. Thank you for reading, have a good one.
